Nickname and character
Students type a name of 2 to 20 characters. In a Live Quiz they can also dress up a character. You can switch on random names.
Steps
Step 1: A student types a name of 2 to 20 characters and presses the join button.
A name that is not allowed is refused with "try a different one". If another student has the same name, they add a surname.
On your computerStep 2: If you switch on Nickname generator, a Random name button gives them a name such as Adjective plus Animal.
Step 3: In a Live Quiz lobby, a student taps their character or Customise me. They choose an Avatar, Eyes, Mouth and Hat.
Characters are part of the Live Quiz.
Step 4: Rename a student on your board, or press their name and Remove them.
In a lesson, a name badge shows bottom left with their score. A student who picked the wrong name can choose that it is not them.
Common questions
Do students use their real names?
That is up to you. Cazuz never asks for a real name, only a nickname, so tell students which name to type. A first name or nickname is enough.
A student chose a silly name. What can I do?
Rename the student on your board, or remove them. A removed student can rejoin with the code unless you lock the lobby.
