Turn a worksheet into an online quiz that marks itself
Upload your worksheet to Cazuz as a PDF, Word, PowerPoint or Excel file, and AI pulls out its questions and answers to build an online quiz. Assign it to a class with a link or QR code, and Cazuz marks every answer and gives you a report per student and per question.
How to turn a worksheet into self-grading homework
Start an Assessment
Press Create Activity and pick Assessment, the activity that holds every question type in one place.
Upload the worksheet
Press From a worksheet and drop your file on the box: PDF, Word, PowerPoint or Excel, up to 15 MB.
Choose what to bring in
Import every question or pick a number, tick the question types you want, then press Import worksheet. It usually takes under a minute.
Check it as a student would
Read the questions in the editor, change anything you like, and press Preview to try it yourself.
Assign it to a class
Press Assign, pick the class, and set a deadline, the number of attempts and shuffling if you want them. Share the link or the QR code.
What you get
- Gap sentences become fill the blank, sequences become put in order, categories become sort into groups and two-column tables become match the pairs. Some of these types are on the paid plans
- Your answer key read from the page: in Word and PowerPoint, answers in bold, underline or highlight and wrong ones struck through; in Excel, bold answers or an Answer column; in a PDF, the key written in the file
- Homework students do at their own pace, on any device, until the deadline closes the link
- A report per student and per question, with the hardest questions first. Download it as Excel on Pro
- Students never make an account. They join with a name
Questions teachers ask
- Will Cazuz keep my answer key?
- Yes, when the worksheet shows it. In a Word or PowerPoint file, answers in bold, underline or highlight are read as the right ones and struck-through choices as wrong. Excel reads bold only, and a PDF carries no marks, so write the key in the file. If no answer is written anywhere, the AI uses its own knowledge, so check them in the editor before you assign.
- Can students do it at home?
- Yes. An Assessment is self-paced: students open the class link or scan the QR code on any device and work through it alone. When the deadline passes, the link closes.
- Can students try again?
- You choose. Set a number of attempts, or leave it unlimited. The report's class numbers count each student's best try.
- Does it work with Arabic or French worksheets?
- Yes. The AI keeps your worksheet's language, so an Arabic worksheet becomes an Arabic quiz and a French one stays French.
- My worksheet is a scan. Will it work?
- Not as a scan. Cazuz reads the text in the file and does not read text inside photos, so a scanned PDF is refused. Upload the Word file the worksheet was made from instead (see Word to quiz). A file with no readable text is refused, and in practice that means scanned PDFs.
- What does it leave out?
- Questions that need a picture to answer, long written answers and questions with no answer given. Cazuz tells you how many were left out so you can add them yourself.
- Is student data safe?
- Students join with a name only, no email and no account. Your worksheet's text goes to the AI, which does not train on it, so cut out pages with students' names before uploading.
